An Art Collector’s California Cottage
What began as a simple kitchen remodel, soon became a living room addition for the Walton family of San Jose. Once the demolition began the owner admitted that she had always envisioned a living room extending into her sunny backyard. So Kay Heizman drew the plans for the addition and away they went. Walton who was an active member of the local art museum wanted to keep the backdrop clean and simple, to showcase her revolving collection of modern art. Designing on a budget was easy and fun for Kay as she helped her client collect casual furnishings and colorful accessories to compliment the artwork. Walton was pleased with the results, and so was Women’s Day magazine who featured it in their Additions and Decks issue.
