Kay Heizman Design Wins Design Excellence Award

Kay Heizman Design is pleased to have been awarded a 2016 Design Excellence Award from the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) California Peninsula Chapter. Founded in 1975, ASID is the oldest, largest and leading professional organization for interior designers. The American Society of Interior Designers is a community of people — designers, industry representatives, educators and students — committed to interior design.

Northern California Interior Designer AwardKay Heizman Design received a Silver Award in the Single Family Residence Under 3,000 Sq. Ft. category for work on Nirvana on the Monterey Bay, which exemplifies this Silicon Valley executive’s hillside retreat. Perched atop 50 acres overlooking the Monterey Bay, one is greeted by larger than life-sized Buddhas perched in the landscape. The interior is the marriage of a spectacular collection of antique Japanese screen paintings, bronzes, and porcelains, purchased abroad and in the Bay area, with elegant but comfortable furnishings…striking the perfect blend of understated elegance.

The ASID CA Peninsula Design Awards Competition is a prestigious award bestowed upon the most talented designers in the CA Peninsula Chapter, from Carmel By the Sea to South San Francisco. This award recognizes interior designers for their hard work, making their designs the benchmark of the industry, and inspiring a new generation of students and emerging professionals.

Kay was presented with the award at the Design Awards Celebration and her winning project was published in LUXE INTERIORS + DESIGN Magazine.
