Why should you hire an interior designer?

Are you working with an architect on your new house design, but unsure if the rooms will accommodate the furniture that reflects your lifestyle? Is the task of picking out finishes for the house overwhelming?

  • Do you want to purchase new furniture, but not sure about style, scale, and layout?
  • Are you remodeling a bathroom and don’t know where to start?
  • Do you simply want to give a room a “face lift” but can’t seem to pull all the loose ends together?

There is one answer to all these questions. Hire an interior designer!

If you find a credentialed interior designer, they will provide you with the answers to all these questions…and more!

Any project large or small must begin with a properly scaled floor plan/furniture layout whether a large new home construction, or a small bathroom remodel. Every project must have a properly scaled plan. It’s the basis of all other decisions and will save you many costly mistakes. Any qualified designer will insist on beginning the project with a plan.

There are a plethora of internet resources for home furnishings these days…

Unfortunately for many of my clients, it’s too much information! Having an experienced designer by your side can help you streamline the process. Sourcing the right products for the client’s space, while making sure the selections are the proper scale and size, takes an experienced eye and are the sign of an accomplished interior designer.

Small bathroom remodels take as much thought and planning as redoing an entire living room. Why? Because there are so many elements that must come together to create the space, such as, flooring materials, lighting/electrical, plumbing fixtures, cabinetry and hardware, wall materials, and bath accessories. This can be a daunting task for the typical homeower. An experienced designer can help you pull together all those elements to create a stunning result.

And sometimes a designer is simply a pair of “fresh eyes” when you cannot see beyond the room you’ve lived in forever, but just want a change.

I for one defer to others, whether it be accountants, doctors, realtors, or financial advisors, to help me in areas that I do not excel. I know that in the long run they save me time and money, and allow me to do what I do best. Do yourself a favor and hire an interior designer if you want to save time and money. It will also allow you to focus on what you do best…and the result will be a beautiful space that you could never have created on your own.
